The founders, Ronald Pitt (“Ron”), Gordon Short Sr. (“Gordon Sr.”) and Gordon Short Jr. (“Gordon Jr.”) have a combined 65 + years in the industrial services industry. During this time, they conducted or supervised more than 10,000 Permit Required Confined Space entries, not one of which ever resulted in an OSHA violation. Safety of their co-workers and employees was then and now, their primary focus.

In 2007, the Shorts purchased a specialized 20,000 psi concrete cutting machine, and cut hardened concrete from mixer drums for ready-mixed concrete companies in Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio and Illinois for several years. It was during this time, they concluded that a better way to deal with the accumulation of hardened concrete in mixer drums was not to let it accumulate in the first place. Having been colleagues in a past water blasting business, the Shorts brought their idea to Ron and Dorothy Pitt.

Four years ago, Ron, Gordon Sr. and Gordon Jr. met at a McDonald’s and began the process of designing a automatic machine that could be used daily, operated by the driver and would would prevent build up in the mixer drum.

That process is now complete with the introduction of the RMC Cyclone.
